Northwestern State junior Jasmyn Steels won the women's long jump with a first-round effort of 21-2.50 (6.46m) at the NCAA Division 1 Indoor Championships at the CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala. Steels, who produced a personal best, became the first women's indoor national champion in any event in program history.
